My early childhood was not very eventful as far as writing is considered. As I became older, writing became more interesting to me. I don't remember too much from the high school years; other than i started writing more just for fun, and other purposes. I started writing music, so I decided to write lyrics as well. Writing lyrics though seemed to be a little more difficult of a process than writing a story for school, because I had to use less words to explain what I meant.
Reading became more interesting with age as well. I read a lot more news /current events than books, because I like to be at least somewhat aware of the world around me. As far as my book reading is concerned; I enjoy philosophical readings of any kind from novels to fiction.
Even though i'm a college student and texting seems to be the trend for college students, i'm not a texter by any means. I'd much rather use my phone to talk than to text.
These kind of assignments seem to open your mind a little more, make you think about the things you have done, and help you to think clearer for the bigger assignments in the future. Writing is not just for class work only; there are plenty of people who just write because they feel like it or enjoy it. The difference between the writers that are forced to write because of their job or whatever the case may be and the people who write for their own satisfaction is the audience they're waiting for. The people who write for fun, therapy or what have you; their audience is decided by the writer. It's up to them who the audience is because they're the one who owns the story.

I have a lot of friends who attempt to write lyrics and everyone finds it a very difficult task. My father was a musician and he had some serious skills when it came to writing lyrics as well as cords to go along with those lyrics. I've attempted many times to write with him before he died and found it very hard to do myself. Writing does seem to open your mind and gives you the opportunity to express yourself in different ways.
ReplyDeleteI too am a musician. I don't write lyrics but I have tried writing compositions. I enjoy meeting other musicians.
ReplyDeleteMan I wish I was talented enough to write lyrics. Just recently I've beentrying to learn how to play guitar and finding out its not that easy. It is nice that your not a huge texter too. I wouldn't text that much if my friends would pick up the phone rather than text. Nice writing, you seperated the paragraphs well.
